“…she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.” (Gen 4:25)

Could a man thwart the plans of God? Cain killing Able was a catalyst sparking the downward spiral towards man’s inevitable end: Lamech, brazenly shaking his fist at his maker, scoffing in misplaced pride.

And yet God wasn’t undone; Eve had a son. And she named him Seth, meaning substitute, because she could rightly see God’s hand determining the course of human events.

This series attempts to answer the question, “Present a “Royal Line of Salvation” throughout the Old and New Testament. Start at Genesis 3:15 passing through Isaiah 9:6 and ending at John 3:16. Join together at least twenty verses outlining the salvation story.” by giving a chronological account of the genealogy of Christ recorded in Luke 3.
