So our church is engaged in a number of evangelistic outreaches (door-to-door, local high school, local primary school, local police station...). One of the big requests I've received is for tracts. I went online and was so disappointed, tracts were either theologically weak and pretty, or theological strong and really ugly (oh, there were some weak ugly ones too).

So we made a decision to write and produce our own (easier said than done).

At last, a Gospel tract I'm comfortable with :).

Handing out Bibles to Crystal Park High School

Reblogged from Crystal Park Baptist Church:

We have the opportunity on a weekly basis of meeting with our local high school (Crystal Park High School) and addressing the morning assembly. Each morning we read a Psalm, explain the meaning and then pray for the learners and staff.

In Addition the school has allowed us to come in on a weekly basis and address the Christian Association. Out of a school of 590 pupils sometimes as many as 50 – 60 attend the first break Christian Association class.

After the sermon on a Sunday we ask the congregation if they have any questions regarding the text. The first observation comes from a Lynette, who has a MacArthur Study Bible – if ever you are stuck on a desert island and can take one book with you this should be high up on the list. The second question came from a visitor who sat through the service attentively and took notes during the sermon. I found out afterwards that he works as an intern at a Presbyterian church plant servicing UJ.

After the sermon on a Sunday we ask the congregation if they have any questions regarding the text. I was so excited this Sunday to field the first two questions we've had from the congregation. Praise the LORD, we're really starting to tackle the text.
